The Northern Rivers Conservatorium Arts Centre Music Marathon March 23

The Northern Rivers Conservatorium Arts Centre aims to raise $15,000.00 to fund repairs to their historic building in downtown Lismore.

The main fundraising event is a 12-hour Music Marathon, to be held on Saturday 23 March from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm.

Students of the Conservatorium are collecting sponsors for each minute of music they will perform on the day.

Community Music Coordinator Zoë Abbott said that the Music Marathon would be a great opportunity for every student of the Conservatorium to perform on stage. “The Music Marathon means that every student can perform in the same concert on the same day – we are very excited”.

There is also a practice-a-thon running in the lead up to the music marathon, where students keep a record of their practice sessions and collect sponsorship for each hour of practice.

Ms Abbott said that anyone who feels an affiliation with the building is welcome to support the Music Marathon as an audience member on the day, or by offering sponsorship. Would-be sponsors can make a direct deposit to National Australia Bank, BSB 082-707, Account # 688 922 424, NRCAC Student Fees Trust Account. Please reference ‘RTR’, and your name. Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
