Tennis Court and Basketball Court for Tallowood Ridge

As Byron Shire’s community with heart grows, facilities for its residents are also expanding.

The Tallowood Ridge tennis court and basketball/netball court are under construction and due for completion in September.

The second stage of Tallowood’s recreation facilities, which includes a regulation full size football field (overlaid with a cricket pitch in season) and bike path over the creek are due for completion early next year.

Also powering are the Tallowood Ridge Community Gardens. “There are about a dozen households involved at the moment, but more are interested” said resident Beryl Judd. “The gardens are in a lovely area near the tree house where all the kids play. And there’s a seat, which Council kindly put in, so everybody sits and talks. It’s a wonderful meeting place”.

“We are seeing some very high quality design and architecture in the newer homes” said Tallowood Ridge’s John Bennett. “It’s exciting, for Tallowood and also for Mullumbimby. There is a lot of community pride here”.

Sales at the community continue to be strong. “As soon as we release new land it’s nearly gone” said Adam Mangleson from Chincogan Real Estate. “We sold five home sites in the past week. We are getting a lot of exodus out of Byron. People want to put down roots somewhere they feel safe. The turnover of occupied real estate in Mullum is very low – it’s very tightly held. Obviously people are happy once they are here. You don’t get the transient population that you get on the coast – holiday letting is not an issue here”.

Land at Tallowood Ridge is priced from $292,000 for a 740sqm home site with a near level building pad and good breezes.
