Oyster Festival is back and bigger than ever in August 2017

The highly anticipated Oyster Festival returns for its second year at Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. Throughout the month of August, Executive Chef and Co-Owner Sean Connolly will be shucking up a storm with an array of activities, unique menu items and offers to entice oyster lovers.

This year’s festival boasts the largest selection of oysters, with Sydney rock and pacific varieties showcased from around the Australian coastline. The freshest and most decadent oysters will be delivered daily to the venue for oyster aficionados to slurp on all month long.

“This is one of my favourite times of the year, and the Oyster Festival is our way of celebratingAustralia’s great producers and sharing our passion for these delicious morsels”, says Sean Connolly.

The Balcony Bar & Oyster Co.Oyster Festival will run from Tuesday 1st August to Thursday 31st August 2017, with the following activities on offer:

‘Oyster Hour’ – this Byron Bay favourite will be on every day, with oysters going for $1 a pop between 5pm and 6pm throughout August.

Shucksational Beverages – Pop a bottle of Piper Heidsieck champagne for only $99 or enjoy Oyster Shooters featuring Brookie’s Gin, as well the signature Talisker Penicillin Cocktail with fresh notes of lemon, honey and ginger. You’ll love the red snapper cocktail also featuring Brookie’s gin, tomato juice, signature spices and oyster brine. The menu has been created with perfectly paired wines, cocktails and beer specials to boot.

Southern fried oyster tacos with chilli mayo and cabbage slaw
Oyster omelette with chilli tomato jam & an oriental salad
Oyster leek & mussel chowder with duck fat chips
Carpet Bag Burger with duck fat chips
Steamed Jurassic Oyster served in a soy broth & Asian greens
Stone & Wood Beer Battered Oysters with mushy peas, bits and malt vinegar
Carpet Bag Steak with greens and gravy
