For your very partying/dancing pleasure Grammy nominee, ultra showman Chris Berry returns after a 4-year absence. A master of both mbira (thumb piano) and the ngoma drum, from the Shona people of Southern Africa, he’s earned the great honour/title of gwenyambira (“one whose music calls the spirits”), His record sales have reached platinum album sales in Zimbabwe and Mozambique for his work with the band Panjea.

Chris is a versatile singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist virtuoso, and electrifying performer and teacher. He has blasted his powerful Afro-infused sound around the globe for over 25 years; rocking audiences from New York to sold out stadiums in South Africa to Sydney’s Opera House. He’s released over a dozen albums; scored film soundtracks; and has collaborated and performed with some of the music’s top artists i.e. Eminem, Senegal’s Youssou N’dour, Cuba’s Los Munequitos de Mantanzas, Paul Winter, Jamaica’s Sly (Dunbar) and Robbie (Shakespeare) and many more!

He’ll be joined by Brisbane’s Spankinhide, the ultimate African rhythm band that creates an unstoppable, full power, dance frenzy for all who hear them, and special Guests.
