Byron Music Society – 2017 Program Launch Event
BMS has an exciting schedule of music events planned for 2017, and has a jam packed festive Program Launch day coming up, including dinner by Francisco’s table pop-up restaurant.
2017 is an exciting year to be a member of the Byron Music Society. BMS has developed exciting partnerships and promises to provide you with music events that will thrill your ears, eyes, and tastebuds.
Come along to the Program Launch day on Sunday February 19, at St Martin’s Mullumbimby, to help us start 2017 with a bang.

PROGRAM LAUNCH EVENT SCHEDULE
3.00 pm – $15
Film screening – Le Concert
The event will begin with a screening of the delightful film Le Concert (comedy/drama/music, rated PG).
Twenty five years after losing his position as the conductor of the Bolshoi Orchestra for his refusal to fire Jewish musicians, a once-famous musical director (Aleksei Guskov) attempts to stage a late-career comeback. Laughter and tears as the seriousness of music-making is unpacked.

2017 Program Launch with Dynasty8
Join BMS’ President elect Nicholas Routley and committee in St Martin’s Hall for a glass of bubbles and some beautiful music by chamber choir Dynasty8. Nicholas will talk through the coming year’s program and announce our very exciting 2017 surprise.
5.45 pm – $35, $30 Members, Seniors
Louise King is musically adventurous and her daringly diverse performance projects explore a dizzying array of music. Whether it’s early music, historical informed performance practice, cutting-edge experimental music, folk music, or Australian music, Louise will surprise us with her program but not with her virtuosity, expression and musical excellence.

Francisco’s Table pop up restaurant
Finish off a fabulous day with dinner by Francisco’s Table. Francisco’s Table is a roaming restaurant popping up at different locations around the Byron Shire, regularly appearing at Coorabell Hall, Federal Hall, Corndale Hall and the Bangalow A&I Hall. Francisco’s food is inspired by local produce that is sourced from a wide community of growers and farmers. You will share a table loaded with delectable dishes with your neighbours, friends and fellow food lovers.
