BYRON BIKE RACK PROJECT

Create sculptural bike racks for the town of Byron – Enter your designs in ‘Byron Bike Rack Project’ competition

Calling all Northern Rivers artists, designers, artistic teams… and bike riders!

Dream up a set of sculptural bike racks for the town of Byron and you could be funded $20k to bring the project to life and see them used in our town.

Byron Bike Rack Project is a community initiative by local independent brewery Stone & Wood, in partnership with the Byron Shire Council. Encouraging the locals of Byron Bay and its visitors to ride, rather than drive, the competition aims to create a set of public art installations that are functional and look good for the town of Byron!

Entries close: 22 January 2018

The designs will be judged in two rounds, the first round by a committee from Byron Shire Council Public Art Panel and the second round to be announced soon.

The winning artist(s) or designer(s) will need to be available from 4 March – 30 April 2018 to create the sculptures. The final artwork must be delivered to the Byron Shire Council depot in Bayshore Drive, Byron Bay.
