August 17-19 2012 – A&I Hall, Station St Bangalow
This years 11th Annual Music Festival offera a weekend full of entertaining concerts by some of the worlds most well known musicians and composers. With a focus this year on international stars, many of whom are performing for the first time in Bangalow.
Musicians include Katie Noonan, Alison Mitchell, Lyndon Watts, Timothy Young and the Streeton Trio, as well as the incredible stars Lisa Gasteen and extraordinary violin virtuoso, Ilya Konovalov, who will be performing the Bruch violin concerto amongst other things. Another first for the festival this year will be Elena Kats-Chernin as ‘Composer in Focus’ as well as one of Australia’s leading young conductors, Sarah-Grace Williams.
Journey around the world over three days with the music of France, Germany, Italy, Russia, America and Australia performed by world-class soloists whilst enjoying the magnificent landscapes and unique community atmosphere of Bangalow. The music festival includes chamber music recitals, a children’s concert and a concert for the local community in which local musicians from Bangalow and neighboring townships perform a joint concert with festival musicians.
