Merrilee Pettinato’s botanic oil paintings take you on a journey exploring the delights of flowers and leaves, inspired by her mother’s garden, and love of nature.
“Our garden was large and rambling. It was my mother’s refuge; she would go out at dawn with a flower basket and gather leaves, flowers and branches to fill vases with the most beautiful arrangements. She never went anywhere without a bouquet of flowers, lemons, apples or eggs. My appreciation of nature grew from my mother’s love and appreciation of arranging nature’s gifts.”
This exhibition is a celebration of the beauty found in the garden. Merrilee Pettinato’s paintings on natural linen canvas showcase the linen texture as a background, which enhances depth to her garden subjects.
This is her first solo exhibition in this region.
