The Byron Ballet company performs ‘Threads’ a New Contemporary piece on Sunday 22nd March at Byron Theatre. Featuring special guest dancer/choreographer Martin Schirbel, with live music performed by Argentinian musician/composer Gerardo Dire.
Inspired by the work of fibre artist, Mirra-Winni, and the exquisite sounds of the bandoneon, using a score and sound-scape by the innovative Argentinian composer and musician, Gerardo Dirie , “THREADS” captures the essence of Byron Bay – the moods of the sea, wind, sand, shells.
With atmospheric lighting, this ground-breaking artistic collaboration will celebrate the launch of the 2015 Byron Music Society concert series.
Meet the artists at 2 pm for a pre-concert chat, and join us after the performance for a celebratory glass of champagne to mark the start of an exciting 2015 program of fine music!
