Zion Levy Stewart at the Lone Goat Gallery

Zion’s ‘art with Heart’ colourful, quirky paintings in watercolour and acrylic, and equally unique hand-painted ceramics, have dazzled fans and international collectors for almost a decade.

Born thirty-seven years ago in London to an Australian mother and Trinidadian father, Zion has been creating original artworks for seventeen years. Since moving to Australia at age twelve, his passion and appreciation for the wonders of nature and his love of life and people, has affected his very personal artworks.

_DSC1129 - Version 2This outsider artist has received loving encouragement from his family, friends and care-workers. His special talent is for portraits that capture the essence of his subjects. He often paints local scenes and characters down by the river, at the beach, in cafes or at the markets.

Zion has exhibited in local and interstate galleries but this is his first solo exhibition. Over the past few years he has been commissioned for portraits and his work is now in private art collections in the USA and UK as well as here in Australia. In collaboration with other artists, Zion has regularly exhibited at local galleries and at Studio RED, an art studio established in Byron Bay by RED Inc. (Realise Every Dream Inc.), his visionary Lismore-based care and support providers, who encourage creative potential and development in those with a ‘disability’.

Zion says “I like drawing people. I live in a place called Paradise, which is heaven.”
