TWO BIG SHOWS AT THE BRUNSWICK PICTURE HOUSE

All AGES – JAZZAMATAZZ! – Saturday, 13 May, 11am – NEW TIME!
GROWN UPS CAN ENJOY – DECADENCE – Sunday, 14 May, 5pm – NEW TIME!

Saturdays are officially for dancing when Ali McGregor’s all ages show JAZZAMATAZZ! hits the Brunswick Picture House on Saturday, 13 May at 11am. The insanely talented Ali, fresh from the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, will lead a morning of singing loud, jumpin’, jivin’ jazz for children young and old. With songs like ‘Who Let the Dogs Out?’ ‘A-Tisket, A-Tasket’ & ‘Single Ladies’ everybody will be Shufflin’ to the be-bop beats & hep-cat treats. Get your jazz moves ready!

This hour-long non-stop rollercoaster of jazzy beats & early 90’s musical numbers is guaranteed to get everyone singing & prancing, twisting and dancing. Parents and friends can either join in or grab a restful drink and watch the young ‘uns tire themselves out on the dance floor!

Sundays also just got a whole lot better, with a 5pm adults only sumptuously sexy treat from Ali called DECADENCE, on Sunday, 14 May. This will be set amongst the stunning twilight backdrop of our garden, set by moonlight. Bring a blanket and your best friend, mum, aunt or lover. Backed by one of Australia’s finest jazz musicians Sam Keevers, DECADENCE celebrates 10 years of one of Australia’s most versatile cabaret voices with Ali’s inimitable, laid-back charm. Moving effortless-ly between jazz standards, ’80s pop/rock mash-ups and rap, you can expect sultry tango beats, bass and drums and good vibes all night. Make your weekend last longer – and what better way to treat Mum for Mother’s Day?!

“Ali McGregor is one of Australia’s brightest shining stars. I had the pleasure of first working with Ali 15 years ago when she was a principal soprano with Opera Australia – she would duck out into the night to the Famous Spiegeltent to perform in our cabaret/variety show La Clique. We’ve worked with her closely for many years, most recently in Club Swizzle at the Sydney Opera House. She’s carved out a distinguished place internationally in the cabaret and festival world and it is a great delight and privilege to have her making her Bruns debut with two big shows at the intimate setting of the Brunswick Picture House,” comments Brett Haylock, Principle Dreamer and co-owner of the Brunswick Picture House.
