Tora live in concert Northern Hotel 5 May

With their first official release in over two years, genre-bending Australia four-piece Tora have returned with a brand new single ‘Jigglypuff’, out now everywhere via Believe. ‘Jigglypuff’ marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Tora who are gearing up for a huge 2024, and follows on from the announcement of their Australian headline tour kicking off in April 2024.

Known for their harmonious blend of indie electronica, dream-pop and ambient sonic landscapes, ‘Jigglypuff’ takes a slight sonic detour and is one of the most upbeat tracks we have heard from the band. A love song at its core, ‘Jigglypuff’ was inspired by vocalist Jo’s personal experience of being stuck in the “grey zone” of a relationship where neither person knows where they stand. The band explain “‘Jigglypuff’ is about opening up to someone, letting them know that you are scared but ready to take a leap together”. Throughout the new single contrasting grooves and pulsing synths are layered under catchy yet intimate vocals that take listeners on a journey of highs and lows with overflowing hooks and hidden sonic surprises.

The new single follows on from Tora’s announcement that in April 2024 the band will be returning home for their first Australian shows in over 4 years since relocating to Europe in 2020. Having since released their third album, A Force Majeure, and sold out headline tours in EU & USA, Tora will be joined by special guests and good friends Fractures and AKA Lui for the headline shows.

One of TORA’s most enchanting attributes is their live performances. The band’s mesmerising shows take their already ethereal music to another level with live drums, analogue synths, soaring vocals and a strong stage presence that demonstrates their 10 years of experience on the road. From intimate venues to music festivals, the band’s captivating aura creates an almost spiritual experience for their audience. Bringing a new set constructed of songs from all 3 of their studio albums, fans and patrons are in for a treat.
