The Altais Set To Play The September Residency At Treehouse

If you like your music to be written with honesty and performed with a level of humbleness and humour that warms the soul, if you love to see two singer-songwriters play from heart and do what they enjoy more than anything in this world, then you’ll love this little duo of Tully Davidson & Liza-Jane as The Altais.

The Altais are a Gold Coast alternate folk duo comprised of 20-year-old Perth-born Eliza-Jane Doherty and 23-year-old Tully Davidson, two independent solo artists who loved each others’ music so much that they decided to join forces last year and have been warming the hearts of Queensland audiences since.

Having performed at the Black Bear Lodge’s 50 Years of Bob Dylan Tribute in Brisbane, as well as spots at the Bleach Festival, 2high Festival and One Way Street Party on the Gold Coast, the alternate folk duo are quickly making their mark in both Brisbane and Gold Coast circles.

The release of their single ‘Low’ earlier in the year prompted the duo’s first Sydney tour and upon their return to the Sunshine State they have supported the likes of Patrick James, Julia & the Deep Sea Sirens, Good Oak and Pat Tierney. The Altais’ are also currently writing and preparing to get in the studio in the coming months, with the goal to release their debut EP at the end of the year.

Inspired by the likes of Bon Iver, Ben Howard and Damien Rice, The Altais are drawn to music’s emotive power. With inimitable rawness, truth and delicacy, these two young storytellers come together to paint a fragrant picture of the heart, the soul, love, loss, their travels and their triumphs, as well as the occasional hillside, ridge-line and snow-capped mountaintop.

The Altais are excited and honoured to play the prestigious artist residency spot at Treehouse, which is reserved for ‘the cream of the crop’ and has featured great acts like Good Oak and James T.
