STRING THEORY – LIV ENQVIST – LONE GOAT GALLERY 18 JANUARY – 15 FEBRUARY 2025

Northern Rivers artist Liv Enqvist explores the scientific concept of String Theory which suggests that all particles are connected by vibrating strings, creating an invisible web that unites the universe. This concept parallels the structure of our small communities, where individuals are bound together through the shared rhythms of giving and receiving, light and dark, day and night. Like particles, people are intrinsically connected, forming networks that sustain and define them.

Textiles beautifully symbolise these connections, woven from threads that span cultures and geographies, textiles hold stories of intimacy and identity. From the silk weavers of Lyon to vintage fabrics from Stockholm, they represent a global network of touch and craft, accompanying us from birth to death.

Liv is based in Byron Bay and her practice, influenced by a background in art, design, and global studies, celebrates the threads that bind us to each other and to the world around us. She invites us to reflect on these universal ties and our place in this vast, interconnected whole.
