Mullum Loves Nepal Benefit Concert

The Byron Spirit Festival in collaboration with the Mullum Music Festival is putting together Mullum Loves Nepal, a benefit concert this Saturday, 16 May at the Mullum Civic Hall 5-11pm. Featuring: Wild Marmalade, Gabriel and Cecilia, Walrus & The Carpenter, The Hottentots, Amir Paiss, Avishai Barnatan and Shai Shriki, with MC’s Mayor Simon Richardson and Ellen Briggs.

There will be an awesome raffle with prizes including: Double Passes to: Mullum Music Festival, Bello Winter Music, Byron Spirit Festival, Falls Festival, a $500 gift voucher for Crystals & Jewellery, Abundance Baskets donated by Mullum Farmer’s Market stallholders and more.

Another way to contribute is to bring something to the Give, Get, n, Gift section. Please bring items in reasonably good condition that you are ready to pass along to others who will purchase by donation. Proceeds will got to three charities: Friends of India, Giving it Back, who are trucking in canvas and sewing machines for tents, Bumi Sehat, who are providing midwifery services, and Amma, supporting Embracing the World who is sending in food, clothes and medicine to Kathmandu.

The earthquake was the worst to hit Nepal in 80 years and was strong enough to be felt across parts of India, Bangladesh, Tibet and Pakistan. Figures estimate over 7000 people have died, over 11,000 injured and hundreds of thousands left homeless.
