LIVE MUSIC MUST GO ON! SummerStage Byron Bay, Red Devil Park 13 Jan – 28 Feb

What do you think of when you think about Byron Bay and the Northern Rivers? Most would think about live music, big bands, buskers on the streets, a sense of freedom, nature and fresh ocean breezes. A lot of that has changed in the last year with Covid restrictions and lockdowns. Many musicians have not had gigs to play, or if they play, they get restricted to smaller shows and quiet ensembles.

Introducing Summer Stage Byron Bay, a place where bands can play big and loud, and music lovers can enjoy a full festival experience. The stage is world-class, the sound magnificent. Set outside amongst nature, it truly is the place to enjoy live music. This series line-up includes Phil Jamieson, Grinspoons leading man, The Beautiful Girls, The Feramones, Lisa Hunt, Loonaloop, Andy Jans-Brown, Sophie Ozard, Byron’s Divas of Jazz + more to be announced soon.

Summer Stage is a unique initiative created by local musician and icon Lisa Hunt. After having her shows cancelled over and over again during Covid times, she saw a gap that needed to be filled. A place where she would be able to perform at her usual large scale, and also support other musicians in the area and nationwide.

The space has been set-up to provide a Covid safe musical gathering, where music lovers can book their spots and enjoy an afternoon of music outside without worrying about crowded bars and long line-ups to get in. Patrons can bring picnic rugs or fold-up chairs and hang out with friends while enjoying the music. Operating out of Red Devils Park, the venue is able to host a crowd of up to 500 whilst adhering to a covid-safe plan. Profits from Summer Stage are going towards the local footy club’s fundraiser.

Summer Stage is an all-inclusive event which has special access tickets available for music lovers who are in a wheelchair and would like to see the show with a flat platform for their wheelchair. Booking can also be made for the grass area and gazebos if you wanna get amongst it. It is also great for those who prefer covid-safe gatherings such as the elderly or immune-sensitive people. As this is an afternoon outside event, it is also family friendly.

So get down here, support live music and let your hair down with soft ocean breezes and good vibes.
