FINAL ACTS TOP OFF A HUGE LINE UP FOR BLUESFEST 2018

With a festival just over two weeks away, Bluesfest has added the final acts to their 2018 line up.

Leading this announcement is Citizen Cope; a gifted American singer/songwriter who explores Blues, Soul, Folk and Rock and is known for putting on an incredible live show.

Clayton Doley is a giant of the Australian Blues Scene, so it’s a pleasure to welcome him back in 2018. He returns to Bluesfest with Bayou Billabong; a band who capture the essence New Orleans’ Blues piano and organ traditions while fusing contemporary Australiana and Americana.

Local powerhouse artists Hussy Hicks, Hayley Grace & The Bay Collective, Little Georgia and Miss Renee Simone will delight Bluesfest audiences with their gorgeous voices and dynamic performances.

The Bali Blues Brothers have also been announced, the band will bring their unique combination of Balinese music and traditional Blues to the festival and are sure to leave audiences smiling.

Organisers would also like to confirm that Seal will still be playing at Bluesfest, despite cancelling his Australian tour.

An extended bus service has been announced for Bluesfest 2018! In addition to the busses that run in the Byron region each year from Ballina to Ocean Shores, J&B Busses have added a service that will run from Pottsville to Chinderah stopping in Hastings Point, Cabarita, Casuarina, Kingscliff and Chinderah. Tweed Coast Bluesfest attendees can see the full timetable on the Bluesfest website.

Bluesfest Director Peter Noble OAM on the final announcement:

“We love announcing more artists at Bluesfest! After eight announcements, here is the last one for 2018 and it’s a beauty. It includes two international artists, one great Aussie Soul Blues Band, plus a whole bunch of Byron region artists who are showing the world we have a truly amazing music scene in the Northern Rivers. Artists like Hussy Hicks and Hayley Grace already tour internationally, and Miss Renee Simone and Little Georgia nationally, we are so proud of them…go locals.”

The fun never stops, as we are already working on the very special 30th Anniversary Bluesfest for next year…let me tell you it’s going to be our biggest party ever!

The site is being built, the Buskers Competition has started, and the buzz is palpable. Australia’s most highly awarded festival is about to roll into Byron Bay! I can’t wait. – Peter Noble OAM.
