Early bird subscriptions on sale now for the 19th Bangalow Music Festival 2022 with several headline guest artists announced

The 19th Bangalow Music Festival 2022 (BMF), proudly owned, operated, and presented by Southern Cross Soloists (SXS), one of Australia’s most formidable and long-running chamber music ensembles, announced today that Early Bird Subscription Ticket Packages are now on sale. The Early Bird ticket packages provide value for money with discounts on regular ticket pricing and the opportunity to secure the best seats in the house in advance of the full program being announced. This two-month discount window will end close of business AEST Monday 14th March 2022.

The 19th BMF program under the theme of ‘music’s inexhaustible joie de vivre’ will unfold in the picturesque Byron hinterland town of Bangalow in northern New South Wales from Thursday August 11 to Sunday 14, 2022, providing an ideal winter weekend lifestyle escape.

It was further announced today that one of the 19th BMF headline guest artists is international coloratura soprano soloist Alexandra Flood in a program of vocal splendour and virtuosic brilliance. Also joining this announced headline artist are the renowned Orava Quartet – newly appointed – BMF Quartet in Residence – making a return to the 19th BMF with their scintillating energetic performances. The Orava Quartet are commencing a three-year residency with the BMF which offers exciting collaboration opportunities this year and into the future.

Other 19th BMF 2022 headline artists will be announced in late March.

SXS, entering its 27th year, is a not-for-profit organization and Company-in-Residence at the prestigious Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). Synonymous with delivering virtuosic music-making both in Australia and internationally, SXS present the regional annual Bangalow Music Festival (BMF) and the much-loved festival is a calendar highlight for chamber music lovers nationally. Sadly, the 2020 and 2021 editions were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The incredibly successful 18th 2019 BMF was nominated for an APRA AMCOS award for Best Regional Event and had seven sell-out performances.

The 19th BMF 2022 program will be launched officially in Brisbane, Queensland and Bangalow, New South Wales in coming months with the full program unveiled.

Over four days, peerless musicians will explore ‘music’s inexhaustible joie de vivre’ across seven curated concerts in beautiful Bangalow’s A&I Hall from Thursday August 11 to Sunday August 14. This year’s festival celebrates that music, in its full technicolour glory, has the fundamental ability to unleash a multidimensional mix of emotions that
transcend the spoken word.
