Mark the diaries, wax the boards and book your fave Byron digs NOW because the Byron Bay Surf Festival is back this February
Thurs 22nd – Sunday 25th, 2018.
We have LOTS of exciting news, changes and additions to announce over the coming weeks but here’s a few nuggets to get the froth meter rising!
News Nugget 1: WE’VE ADDED ANOTHER DAY TO PLAY!
With last year being such a cracking wave-blessed success we’ve decided to add an extra day to our festivities. This extends ALL of our opportunities to gather, celebrate and get that much needed fix of surf culture now!
News Nugget 2: FRIDAY’S GETTING IT’S OWN SURF EVENT
We walked deep in to the tallows beach sand dunes and came out a day later with a wild idea that will now be a brand new surfing event happening on the Friday – sure to amp us all up for the rest of the weekend’s happenings! More announcements to come on this one.
News Nugget 3: THE SURF LIT LOUNGE GOES LUNA
It all starts the night of Thursday Feb 22 with a rebranded and redesigned Surf Lit Lounge. For starters, it’s now called THE SURF LEGENDS LOUNGE. And because of all the big names we’re bringing, we’ve decided to turn this crowd fave event into a sunset surf soiree all of it’s own! Housed within the Byron Bay Community Centre, expect to meet some of the biggest legends and icons in surfing to bring you insightful and entertaining talks on surfing, adventure, surfboards, the arts and sustainability. Come early for food and drinks and music.. oh my! Catching up with new friends and old – this Fest-starting event will be epic!
Also Back for 2018:
All the FEELGOOD and FREE events from last season will be back, including the Sunset Cinema, the Art show, Surf Art Markets, Live Music and plenty of parties and other beautiful and radical stuff.
Of course, who could forget the rocking fun times of the Freestyle & Stoke sessions at everyone’s favourite dreamy beach, Wategos?! That is back for sure!
So how about you grab some shade and take a look at our 2017 Highlights Reel for an early fix of all things BBSF and surf culture now.
