Cavalier Comedy presents STEVE ALLISON (FREE SHOW)

CAVALIER COMEDY has joined forces with the good folk over at COMMON PEOPLE BREWING CO to deliver a fresh new series of shows featuring the best local and nationwide comedians, and we’re serving it up for FREE.

Here’s what they’ve got for SEPTEMBER 15th.

STEVE ALLISON… Steve is a man who knows how to make people laugh, and you’ll be convinced as soon as he picks up the microphone.

He commands attention and gets it by way of laughter with his relaxed and casual approach, and hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed his witty style of comedy. His confidence comes from the experience of performing thousands of live shows, and he’s crafted a remarkable act with his natural sense of humour and rapid-fire punchlines. His show mixes snappy one-liners, rib-busting stories, home truths, and ripping takes on current events.

Regarded by industry peers as one of the best comics in the country, Steve Allison delivers Aussie humour at its best.

ANISA NANDUALA… Anisa is a nationally recognised spoken word poet, play writer, educator and published author. She is the 2016 Queensland Poetry Slam champion and runner-up for the Australian Poetry Slam Championships. In 2020 She won the crowd favourite prize at the Good Chat Comedy Club Finals and was Champion of the Sunshine Coast Laughable Comedy Competition.

She’s performed at the Sydney Opera House, Splendour in the Grass, QLD Poetry Festival, and Women of the World Festival and toured the country, sharing stories of love and courage. Anisa also founded the arts collective Voices of Colour, which creates spaces for migrant refugees and First Nations artists to share the world.

JEMMA BAYLEY… is first and foremost a ‘funny guy.’ She has studied animation for four years, which some might consider a joke but not her. She graduated from Griffith in 2017 with a Bachelor in Film and won an award for Best Production Management. At Griffiths, Jemma wrote and directed ‘Catfish’ and produced ‘Bad Dog.’ After graduation, she worked at the Brisbane-based Ludo studio for 6 months, with credits on six episodes of ‘Bluey’ as a background artist.

She performs stand-up comedy and writes in her spare time (what little of it she has).

DENZO… Denzo is a comic who has never acted his age. He’s wacky, he’s fun, and he’s “spanking the age barrier”. He has appeared onstage throughout Qld, the Northern Rivers of NSW, the USA and the UK.

Hosted by PAUL MAMONE… Paul is the most handsome, charismatic and talented comedian on the Northern Rivers (according to his mum). His hare-footed wit, no holds barred crowd work, and moisturised face will bedazzle you into thinking he’s friendly and open… but if you look deep into his eyes, you’ll see the angry, chubby boy still waiting for the release of a new Ninja Turtles toy with his happy meal.

Paul has been doing stand-up since 2018.. mainly because nobody would hire him as an actor, and this is the only way he could merge being creative with being at the pub. He’s CEO of the popular ‘Mamone Zone’ YouTube channel, and you can find him in the corner of the pub talking to himself, pointing his finger at passers-by and flexing his own muscles.
