Byron Ballet presents Coppelia

Coppelia is a comedic story about love, magic and mistaken identity. The eccentric toymaker Dr Coppelius makes life sized dolls and his latest creation is a beautiful, mechanical doll called Coppelia. She is so lifelike that the villagers mistake her for Dr Coppelius’ daughter! A young man, Franz takes a romantic interest in Coppelia – parading, flirting and blowing kisses.

Franz’s fiance, Swanhilda is not impressed and what follows is a comedic journey of romance and mistaken identity as Swanhilda decides to play a trick on Franz for his flirtatious behaviour.

Exquisite dance and joyous music by Leo Delibes – this ballet is a must see for families, and dance lovers, both young and old.
