Byron School of Art (BSA) in Mullumbimby will host an exhibition of works by Hiromi Tango and Lismore based artist Michael Donnelly who has created a series looking at the effects of the recent flood events in Lismore.
The BSA show will also include works by internationally acclaimed photographic artist Polly Borland, local differently-abled artist Zion Levy Stewart, paint and clay artist Stephen Bird, and a floral installation by Selena Murray.
Images from Polly’s surreal ‘Morph’ series will be curated alongside Zion’s ’Soap Opera’ works. The exhibition will also include a commissioned portrait of ‘Polly’ by Zion who follows in the footsteps of many artists in capturing her unique look.
The BSA exhibition will open from September 29 and the gallery will host a series of talks curated by Ashleigh Ralph from Lismore Art Gallery across the weekend.
During the exhibition the BSA building will be transformed into a multi-media installation at night featuring video projections by Djon Mundine, Justine Muller and Ryan Andrew Lee along with large collage works by Laith McGregor.
