As most people now know – Australian school leavers take a holiday with friends as soon at their end of school exams finish. This is known as Schoolies Week.
The actual dates depend on the State they attended school in and the subjects being tested. Safe to say end of November / early December are Schoolies Weeks.
Byron Bay is a popular Schoolie destination along with the Gold Coast, Noosa, Bali & Fiji.

And please be aware that many of the accommodation complexes are all geared up for schoolies at that time.
Schoolies in Byron Bay is a chilled out time… no big parties… no big events… just a relaxing time in a beautiful place… Respect Byron’s unique vibe.
There is a HUB marquee in Main Beach Park that will be open 24 hours a day from November 18 to December 5, for visiting school leavers to come and access information about Byron and surrounds, water, first aid and lots of smiling local volunteers. At night time we’ll be joined by the Red Frogs, doing a bit of music in the park, cooking pancakes and chai.
There is no alcohol or bottles allowed on the beaches or in the parks, so we request that everyone please respect that these are also family areas and little feet walk through there all the time… please be respectful with our natural surrounds. And please no fires on the beach… little feet walk there too.
