On the 8th of October Mama + Me will be hosting our third event for the year, The Spring Mama + Me Markets. From 9am-2pm in the hinterland of Byron Bay we will be creating a family focused festival at the picturesque setting of The Mullumbimby Leagues Club. With an incredible line up of 60 stalls, pony rides, a petting zoo, a free family yoga session, a free spaghetti circus workshop, musical performances, delicious market food, a craft zone, face painting and more, this family focused event is one not to be missed.
Our stallholders are locally owned, sustainable, ethical businesses run by families. Their products are handmade, hand picked, homemade, organic, recycled, up-cycled and or designer products. Attendees will be able to shop for home wares, maternity wear, baby products, kids and baby clothing, toys, books, skincare and more.
The first 100 families to arrive will receive a free swag bag filled to the brim with wholesome goodness like natural facial wipes and baby wipes from Wotnot Naturals, the latest issue of Haven Magazine, cookies from Pretty Yummy Cookie Co, plus gift vouchers worth over $150 and discount cards.
There will also be entertainment and activities to keep the whole family busy. From 10am there will be a free family yoga session with Lissie Turner from The Yoga Shack. Then from 11am the Spaghetti Circus will be hosting a free one hour workshop to bring out the clowns in all of us. From midday Emma from Leeli Music will be serenading us with her angelic acoustic sounds. Throughout the day The Family Center will be hosting a craft space and Durrumbul Community Preschool will run the face painting stall to fund raise for the school.
Our attendees will definitely not go hungry with some of the best food stalls in the shire coming along to feed the masses. From tea and coffee to German Pizza, Japanese Dumplings, Samosas, Vegetarian goodies, Vegan Ice Cream, Organic Spanish Churros, Portuguese tarts, crepes and waffles, all taste buds are sure to be tantalized.
Our Charity of Choice for our Spring Mama + Me Market is Rafiki Mwema. Rafiki Mwema means ‘Loyal Friend’ in Swahili and that is exactly what they are to an incredible number of children who have suffered sexual abuse in Kenya. They have built a safe house for these children, some as young as two years old and I can’t think of a more worthy cause to support.
Rafiki Mwema will be holding a stall on market day to sell signed copies of Constance Hall’s newly released book “Like A Queen”, plus other beautiful products to fundraise for this incredible cause. Rafiki will also be running a raffle to be drawn at the close of the market with some very impressive prizes on offer.
