The 2013 UPLIFT Festival December 12-15

UPLIFT Festival is a globally live-streamed 4 day Festival happening in Byron Bay. An expanded celebration of love and humanity, it brings together some of the finest global evolutionary leaders who will join millions worldwide calling for a positive shift for Planet Earth.

“This year’s Festival is a rare opportunity to connect with an unprecedented gathering of evolutionary leaders in one space,” says UPLIFT Founder Bharat Mitra. “UPLIFT 2013 is for everyone. It supports a deep knowing that we are all fully connected to each other and that the essential truth of Oneness is the foundation of all life.”

This year’s extraordinary line up features some of the planet’s most current consciousness leaders including 2012 New York Times best-selling author Anita Moorjani, author of Dying To Be Me, Dr Bruce Lipton, author of Proof of Heaven and The Honeymoon Effect, Dr Eben Alexander and the inimitable Dr Patch Adams.

Additionally, GAYA (Global Alliance of Youth Action Portal), headed by 13 year old Earth Guardian Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, the world’s most dynamic young environmental advocate, will be launched.

Recently awarded the Barack Obama Volunteer Service Award, Xiuhtezcatl gives unbelievable belief in the power of our new generations to lead the world towards a truly environmentally sustainable solution.

Four of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers will appear at UPLIFT. The Grandmothers were drawn together from across the planet to create the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and specifically to inspire a way of life that will bring the planet back into balance, at a critical time in history when their ancient knowledge was needed for the survival of the next generation.

UPLIFT will also present a special 12m Unity Pole carved by ‘Artist in Residence’ Tonu Shane. His work has been exhibited across the world and has been received by Nelson Mandela, David Suzuki and Kofi Anand.

The base of the Unity Pole will include a time capsule filled with messages and sacred prayers from local Bundjalong elders, the indigenous Grandmother Council, UPLIFT Presenters and members of the Byron shire, including the Mayor. It will be erected permanently in Byron Bay after the festival.

The Festival unites a dynamic tapestry of disciplines that stimulates mind, body and heart, featuring experts from the fields of science, wellness, art, music, ecology, new economics, indigenous culture, the wisdom of youth and more.

The program features inspiring lectures, interactive talks and dynamic panel discussions, plus ongoing sessions featuring yoga, dance, devotional chants, sound therapy, art workshops and a dynamic youth space.

With the huge response to the 2012 program, UPLIFT’s organisers have expanded the event and will deliver cross-discipline collaborative, dynamic and innovative workshops.

The evening hours are devoted to the best of world music and uplifting dance beats from international musicians and world-class Australian acts including Deva Premal and Miten who are playing their only Australian show for 2013 at UPLIFT and award winning Canadian band Delhi 2 Dublin, who are making their first appearance in Australia.

The 2013 UPLIFT Festival provides a meeting place for people of all ages and traditions to share, celebrate and envision a world that we want to create, live in and hand onto our children.
