Byron Writers Festival invites you to a free in-conversation event with Benjamin Gilmour about his memoir The Gap, an unflinching, no-holds-barred look at what happens after the triple-zero call is made.
Benjamin Gilmour has been a paramedic for the past twenty years. In this riveting memoir, Gilmour recounts the call-outs one very difficult summer working as a paramedic in Sydney: some dangerous, some gruesome, some downright ridiculous. Described by The Slap’s Christos Tsiolkas as ‘sharp, intimate and humane’, The Gap exposes the fragility of our lives and the lengths the paramedics will go to save us.
Benjamin will be joined by facilitator, GP and medical educator Dr Genevieve Yates, 6pm next Thursday 26 September at The Book Room Byron Bay. Tickets are free, but bookings essential via byronwritersfestival.com/whats-on.
