Brunswick Picture House Easter Weekend Re-Opening

1809

They’re back! After wrapping up the tours of their two circus/cabaret shows, La Soirée and Club Swizzle, which performed extended seasons in London’s Leicester Square, the Sydney Opera House, Perth and Auckland, the team behind the Brunswick Picture House is now gearing up to once again throw open its doors this Easter weekend with a fun-packed program! It all starts on Good Friday with the all-ages Circus Bonanza, which will leave the young (and the young at heart) with mouths agape. The show that everyone’s been talking about, the famous Cheeky Cabaret, returns with two killer instalments. Finally, Easter Sunday will herald the arrival of the inimitable Paul Capsis in Brunswick Heads – yes, the cabaret and stage legend whose voice has been described as “an act of God.”

Easter will also see the introduction of Homemade Jam on Sundays, where breakfast and live music are served hand in hand. Grace the Picture House pews for the ultimate Sunday Service and listen to local musos harmonising under the backdrop of the lush garden. This is set to become a Bruns tradition – and will take place every Sunday morning, from 10am.

Looking beyond Easter, the calendar for the upcoming months will be packed with more cabarets, including a red-hot special program for the Guilty Pleasures Burlesque Festival, and plenty more all-ages programming and live shows. We heard you loud and clear – our Doco Series of documentaries will now run twice a month. And finally, we’re long overdue for our next Film Event, where we present a classic movie with a twist, as only the Brunswick Picture House can do. And we can safely declare now, “Grease” is the word.
