Big Picture Activism for The Economics of Happiness

7pm, Wednesday 13 February at the Byron Theatre

Byron Bay-based  , the organization behind the award-winning documentary The Economics of Happiness, presents an evening of interactive discussion with key figures from the worldwide localisation movement.

Hosted by localisation pioneer Helena Norberg-Hodge, the event will expose the shared roots of our ecological, economic and spiritual crises—and map out concrete strategies for meaningful change.

The evening will be set up to enable a fluid and dynamic exchange of ideas focused on some key themes—food, finance, health, climate change, governance, and more.

Among those helping to guide our discussions will be Camila Moreno (Brazil), one of the most prominent NGO representatives at UN climate change conferences; Michael Shuman (USA), the world’s leading expert on local finance; Professor Keibo Oiwa (Japan), author of Slow is Beautiful; and Manish Jain (India), a passionate promoter of de-schooling.
